He scans the market.
You hold the helm.

Helmsman watches the most liquid names, puts the setups on the table, and opens only if you confirm — always with a stop. No naked entries. No size invented in chat. You pick the broker.

Marks belong to their owners: they name the venues, they do not imply a partnership. Gold = adapter already in code. The slide shows only retail APIs that fit. Fineco, DEGIRO, Robinhood and the rest without an official trading API stay off it.

For people who trade, not people who ship bots

A quieter trading day

We are not asking for another chart, another language, another account. We take the dirty work: scan, filter, size, cover. You keep the decision.

Elena

Swings around a day job. Cannot sit the book. Wants three liquid proposals at the close, not fifty alerts.

David

Knows «just this once without a stop» is how accounts die. Wants the entry born covered — or not born at all.

Sara

Already has a broker, maybe two. Does not want another terminal: she wants a bridge that speaks to APIs that exist.

Paul

Already asks an AI «what would you do in SLV». He does not want invented lots. He wants one true line: size, stop, target — and his yes.

Covered positions

No naked entries. Full stop.

A market order with no stop is not «fast»: it is uncovered. Helmsman opens only when the cover is there — a stop, and a target when the rule calls for one. If that broker cannot cover, it does not open.

  • You see size and stop before you confirm.
  • The numbers come from the risk engine, not from chat.
  • After entry, the position is yours: Helmsman does not «manage» it for you.

The loop

Four steps. No theatre.

01

Scan

Looks at liquid markets. Stale data or a rule that does not fire: skip. It does not invent the trade.

02

Propose

One line: symbol, side, size, stop, target. Enough to say yes or no — not a 40-page memo.

03

You confirm

Helmsman is the helmsman, not the captain. Without your yes, nothing is sent.

04

Open covered

The entry hits the broker you connected, already protected. Then the position is yours.

Multi-broker

Your account stays yours. The bridge adapts.

If a broker offers an API, Helmsman should speak it — with that venue’s rules. In code today: Alpaca paper, Tradier sandbox, IG demo and IBKR mock, plus PaperSim locally. Saxo, OANDA, lemon.markets and the other retail APIs are to build. Fineco, DEGIRO, Robinhood have no official trading API: they stay off the slide. A practice account, if and when there is one, is for clients — not a button on the site.

Before you ask

Trader questions, straight answers

Who executes the order — and who is liable?
The broker on your account is the final executor. Helmsman is middleware: it translates, vetoes, forwards. The LLM (Claude or other) can be wrong; you hold the yes and the keys. We are not advisers, not the model, not the venue. If the order exists, it exists after your yes — and capital risk stays yours.
Which skills are live?
Five long-only: ATR-BREAKOUT (trend), CONNORS-MR (buy the dip), VOL-SQUEEZE (compression), QUALITY-DIP (oversold megacaps), AVWAP-RETEST (institutional reclaim). The catalog is moving fast: more in the queue, validated on liquid reference markets before they ship. Not tips: yes/no bools on the tape.
Which tickers does it scan?
A curated universe of 52 liquid names and ETFs — tech, blue chips, sectors, indexes and metals. It will not screen ten thousand symbols: skills work where the book exists. Detail on the Universe page.
Do I need to code?
No. Helmsman is for traders, not bot authors. You see proposals, read size and stop, say yes or no. The stack stays under the hood.
Does it trade without me?
No. You get a preview (symbol, side, size, stop, target). The order goes out only if you confirm. You hold the helm: this is not autopilot.
What is a «covered» position?
Every entry ships with protection: a stop, and a target when the rule calls for one. No naked market orders with a promise to add the stop later. If the broker or the rule cannot cover, Helmsman does not open.
Does the AI pick position size?
No. A model can help you read context; size and stops come from the risk engine, with fixed rules on your account. No quantities invented in chat.
Which brokers?
In code today: Alpaca (paper), Tradier (sandbox), IG (demo) and IBKR (mock, live pending), plus a local PaperSim bench. Saxo, OANDA, lemon.markets and the other retail APIs are to build. Fineco, DEGIRO, Robinhood have no official trading API: they stay off the slide. A new adapter brings its own rules, not an Alpaca copy.
Is this live money already?
We are in early access. When a client is in, they operate in paper: it is not self-serve. Live comes when the bridge, the covers, and the engagement rules are ready. We do not sell magic on real capital.
Which markets does it scan?
Liquid names and ETFs, where getting in and out is realistic. If a rule does not apply — price under the average, dead tape, stale data — it skips the trade. It does not invent one.
What does it cost?
We are in early access. Skills and broker adapters are moving fast. You can pre-register: leave email and venue, we write if and when there is a seat. No fake price list, no credit card to «try it».
Does it manage the position after entry?
No. Helmsman opens covered and stops. Managing the position is your discipline. We do not sell automatic trailing or an overnight bot.
Are the broker logos a partnership?
No. The marks name venues with an API the model can speak. Gold on the tile = adapter already in code (Alpaca, Tradier, IG, IBKR). Grey = to build. Venues without an official retail trading API stay off the slide.
Do I need a new account?
No. The account stays yours. The bridge lengthens toward the broker you already use. On the pre-registration, name which one: that is the queue, not a pitch.

Want the setups, not another terminal?

We are in early access. Skills and broker adapters are moving fast. Leave your email and venue: we write if and when there is a seat.

Trading involves loss. Helmsman is middleware: not advice, not the LLM, not the broker. The final executor is your venue.

Pass-through

We do not decide. We do not execute.

Helmsman is middleware: it translates, vetoes, forwards. The LLM proposes. You confirm. The broker — on your account — is the final executor.

01

The LLM

Not us

Claude or another third-party model can hallucinate, botch the numbers, invent a name. That call is not Helmsman.

02

The bridge

This is us

Routing, rules, covers. If the stop is missing, if size moved, if you did not say yes — the pipe closes. We do not hold your book.

03

The broker

Final executor

Alpaca, Tradier, or the venue you connect. If an order exists, it exists on their book. Helmsman is not your intermediary and not your bank.

If the order exists, it exists on your account, after your yes. Helmsman is the pipe. Not the captain. Not the till.
