Orders

The cover is an order class. Not a prayer.

Every venue has a grammar. Helmsman speaks it; it does not fake it. Alpaca is not Tradier. OTOCO is not a bracket. SIMPLE does not leave. Ever.

The course stays yours

What leaves. What gets torn up.

A naked market is fast only until the fill. Then you are uncovered. Helmsman refuses SIMPLE. On Alpaca it sends OTO or a bracket: the entry and the stop are born together. On Tradier it sends OTOCO: entry, stop and target in the same payload. The name is different. The veto is the same.

If a future adapter cannot offer an honest covered class, it does not open on that venue. We do not «make it work» with two detached orders and a hope. Two detached orders are two chances to stay naked.

OTO · bracket

One-triggers-other: the entry fill arms the stop. The bracket adds the target. A helmsman_… client id so you can trace what left from here, not from an impulsive click on the tape.

TRADIER

OTOCO

One-triggers-one-cancels-the-other: stop and target in the same form. A sanitised tag, no underscores. Pasting Alpaca’s JSON here means opening naked. So we do not paste it.

The next adapter will bring its own grammar

Saxo, Schwab, Directa, tastytrade: each has its brackets, its OCO, its session clock. Helmsman will not pretend they are Alpaca. It will carry a new engagement card. Fineco and DEGIRO have no retail trading API: the bridge does not start there. You will still say yes to the same line.
